Asimov’s account of the origins of the universe, the Earth and life, written for a general readership with his usual clarity and structured in reverse chronological order: it begins with human flight and ends with the beginning of the universe. That structure is itself interesting for interpretation, and the book provides a useful bridge between astronomy and the natural and cultural heritage that surrounds a dark-sky destination — often what allows an astrotourism offer to connect with a wider territorial narrative than the sky alone. By Isaac Asimov.
