A peer-reviewed overview (arXiv 2507.15827, Mdhluli, 2025) of the openly accessible astrotourism resources produced by the International Astronomical Union’s Office of Astronomy for Development. It is aimed at educators, policy makers, tourism operators, grassroots organisers and entrepreneurs, and explains how to build inclusive, locally grounded and sustainable astrotourism, particularly in under-resourced or emerging contexts. It also encourages existing businesses to widen their offer with night-sky based activities such as food experiences, wellness and cultural exploration.
